Potent Planets in Progress ~ 1 May 2016

As our master transformer planet Pluto endured the planetary status demotion and exclusionary exile imposed by the astronomical community, Ceres, Eris, Haumea, Makemake, Sedna and later Vesta, received elevation to dwarf planet status. With further examination, it becomes clear how much of a force of reckoning Ceres is for us all. It becomes clear why the gods deferred to her, and when threatening to destroy the world’s food supply, she was taken very seriously.

It may occur to an observer that the gaseous nature of Jupiter, if compressed into the density of a rock solid ball, may not be that big around. Perhaps the potency of planets is not restricted to the diameter and weight alone. Perhaps all the basic physical attributes matter: diameter, mass, density and gravity. Maybe a planet’s diameter suggests its breadth of influence. Mass indicates the influence as a light weight or heavy weight. Gravity notes the pulling influence or attractive nature. Density, with its “how tightly packed is it” notation, implies intention, will and focus.

Consider the following two graphs. These charts portray planetary influence of the planets in the solar system - which includes Charon as part of a binary planet system - out to Pluto, the previously perceived edge of our solar system (data on Eris, Haumea, Makemake and Sedna under refinement). On the top is the relationship of density over diameter (numeric quantity of density mathematically divided by the physical measure of diameter. The lower graph relates density over gravity (density divided by the planet’s relative gravity at the equator).

In terms of intensity and focus in relationship with breadth of influence and intensity and focus in relative to drawing power, Ceres takes home the gold.

Recently Ceres entered Aries. I can think of no better demonstration of this pattern than a quick scan of the latest barbs tossed by presidential candidates and politicians at the field of candidates in the interest of drawing attention to themselves, declaring their seriousness and qualification for the highest office in this land. Barbed words tossed with no regard for impact such as: “unqualified, incompetent, bully, Lucifer in the flesh and more have been included in and bleeped from the press. To generate fear, some invoke a Ceres-like threat of destruction to the planet, per the intention to “bomb ISIS territory until the ground glows,” or that electing the other one will ensure the destruction of the earth, whether militarily, environmentally or culturally.

From her position near Uranus, Eris shakes her head, perhaps with a smirk, as Ceres prepares to join them. She is not offering the caution that soon Jupiter will enter Libra and as he does, all the finger-pointing, accusations of wrong doing and fault finding with others must cease. Or that the agenda should include a cooperative effort to come together with decorum and harmony, get prepared for what lies ahead, and be ready to execute solid, thoughtful plans as Mars and Saturn align in Sagittarius come August.

This is not only for the politicians. This is for all of us.

There’s no gain in thinking how the system you want to conquer - professionally or socially - is rigged against you. Here’s how you can innovate and create your own evolution:

Perfect your craft, your wares, and your approach.

At any moment, be ready to advocate for yourself without any hint of edge, desperation, or aggressiveness.

When the goal is achieved or the sale is made, stop talking. Shut down the presentation animation and accept the reward.

This past Friday, the Hansen Film Institute of the University of Arizona held “A Conversation on Diversity and Opportunity in Hollywood” a dialogue with producer Moctesuma Esparza. A Pisces, Esparza is best known as the producer of The Milagro Beanfield War, Gettysburg, Selena. Back in the 60's as a student at UCLA, Esparza described himself as an angry young man. An original member of the “brown berets,” he fought to secure inclusion for Latino students in educational opportunities, and in so doing, was arrested multiple times.

Over the years I have had an opportunity to have the pleasure of attending many lectures and workshops by some of the best in astrology and metaphysics. As I listened to Ezparza speak the other evening in his calm, measured eloquence, it became evident what a Zen master he has become. Yoda and Obi Wan Kanobi have nothing over Esparza’s wisdom and mastery of life. As he spoke, I was stunned of his delineation of Ceres that came through his amalgamated experiences of advocacy in the interest of inclusion and diversity... themes in which Eris approves the fervent advocacy of Ceres, and the revolutionary (with evolutionary intention) stirring by Uranus.

On the heels of discussing the anger of his youth based upon perceptions of racial and cultural exclusion, he noted that he has come to realize that, “My commitment to social cause does not require anger.” He observed that perceptions of exclusion may not be as systemic and as strongly rooted in discrimination as one perceives... perhaps the solution to such reactions to life circumstance can be remedied within ones personal inner workings.

His next series of observations that he relayed to a young Latina actress in the crowd summarized the fervor of Ceres, the reactions of Eris to the perception of exclusion, and then he delineated the nature of the theme of the upcoming Mars-Saturn conjunction in August. To summarize his brilliance, Esparza noted, that to be included in life (though specifically referring to Hollywood) one should:

Ensure that every catastrophe should be addressed as an opportunity for advancement of cause.

Hone your skills and craft to ultimate readiness.

Be ready to respond to any opportunity in a phenomenally timely manner. Remain on point. Stay on task.

Assume responsibility for your choices. They are your choices and the results are not a function of society seeking to dismember you or bar you from the high bar goals you set.

As our party left the event, I heard him ask an industry mentor to work with a young man who had been intently bending Esparza’s ear with his pitch for a world-changing media project. He said, “it would be a tragedy for the project to find it’s way to me before it was ready.”

That’s Hollywood for you. If your project is not ready, requires a rewrite, lacks the intensity of well-applied Mars and Saturn components, they will pass. It’s not personal. It’s not cultural. It’s not anything other than the fact that the project did not meet the muster and would not produce satisfying results. Whether pursuing Hollywood or any fantastical life ambition, it’s not about exclusion or life being rigged - it’s about your passionate pursuit of inclusion, clarity of intent and dedication of effort.

More soon.
